Cornwall Social Media Cafe

Posted July 17th, 2009 in What's occurring by Matt

Went to my first #csmc last night in Falmouth, braving the torrential rain and the floods! Was a really great evening and got to meet a lot of really interesting people from a suprising range of backgrounds.

Thanks to Aren and Laura for arranging it all.

Looking forward to the next one. For more information, see http://cornwallcafe.wordpress.com/

Nice use of wordpress for the best job in the world

Posted July 3rd, 2009 in Things of note by Matt

WordPress has really come of age now and is being used to power thousands of really great sites.

Having been to Australia last year and visited the Great Barrier Reef, I’ve been really interested in the ‘Greatest Job In The World’, a media campaign by Queensland Tourism. They’ve put together a really nice looking site that uses some of the core features of WordPress to present a good blog and to tie together some basic bits of social media – flickr photo albums and twitter streams.
